         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 17, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Ways & Means, Subcommittee on Sales, Excise, and  
         Use Taxes met in a formal meeting and was called to order by  
         the Chair, Representative Keffer at 12:08 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Keffer; Bonnen; Ramsay (3). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The Subcommittee on Sales, Excise, and Use Taxes met in a  
         formal meeting to discuss matters concerning Sales, Excise,  
         and Use Taxes.  
          
         Karey Barton and John Hellman from the Office of the Texas  
         Comptroller of Public Accounts appeared before the  
         subcommittee as resource witnesses.  
          
         Sergio Madrigal and Wayne Pulver from the Legislative Budget  
         Board appeared before the subcommittee as resource witnesses. 
          
         At 1:54 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
