         Pursuant to a notice posted on September 19, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Public Health met in a joint public hearing with  
         the House Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Health & Human  
         Services and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Gray, at 9:00 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Hilderbran; Maxey; McClendon; Uresti (9). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 12:05 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
