         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 23, 1999, the House  
         Committee on House Administration met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the Chair, Representative Tony Goolsby  
         at 8:15 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Hamric; Maxey (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Alvarado; Bailey; Giddings; Hawley;  
                   Tillery (5). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 494 
          
         The chair laid out SB 494.   
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         (Representative Giddings now present.)   
          
         Representative Chisum moved that SB 494 be reported favorably  
         to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and  
         be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Goolsby; Luna, Vilma; Allen;  
                        Chisum; Giddings; Hamric; Maxey (7). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0). 
          
         Absent:        Representatives Alvarado; Bailey; Hawley;  
                        Tillery (4). 
          
         At 9:00 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
