Pursuant to a notice posted on February 9, 1999, the House
Committee on House Administration, Subcommittee on Policy &
Procedure Manual met in a formal meeting and was called to
order by the Chair, Representative Luna, Vilma at 11:30 am.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Luna, Vilma; Chisum; Giddings;
Hawley (4).
Absent: Representative Maxey (1).
A quorum was present.
The chair began the review the proposed changes to the House
Policy and Procedures Manual and opened the floor to the
committee members to discuss any concerns they may have.
She introduced Steven Adrian, Executive Director of the House
Business Office and Janice Vastine of House Payroll/Personnel
as resource witnesses.
The chair recognized Steven Adrian to explain the changes in
the Accounting chapter.
(Representative Maxey now present.)
The chair recognized Janice Vastine to explain the changes in
the Payroll/Personnel chapter.
The chair recognized Representative Giddings to express her
concerns regarding House travel policy.
Representative Hawley moved that the proposed changes to the
House Policy and Procedures Manual be reported favorably to
the full committee. The motion prevailed by the following
vote:
Ayes: Representatives Luna, Vilma; Hawley; Maxey (3).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: None (2).
At 12:25 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without
objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of
the chair.
