Pursuant to a notice posted on June 22, 2000, the House
Committee on County Affairs met in a public hearing and was
called to order by the chair, Representative Ramsay, at 9:15
a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Ramsay; Chisum; Farabee (3).
Absent: Representatives Lewis, Glenn; Brown, Betty;
Hilderbran; Krusee; Salinas; Swinford (6).
The Chairman made the opening remarks to explain the subject of
the hearing. The County Affairs Committee was to take public
testimony on the following interim charge: "Review the cost of
statutory county duties, including federal mandates, and the
ability of county tax bases and fees to support such duties."
(Representative Glenn Lewis, Representative Krusee, and
Representative Salinas now present.)
Testimony was taken. (See attached witness list).
At 1:15 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
