The House Committee on Redistricting 
         76th Legislature 
         May 31, 2000

         Magoffin Auditorium, UTEP, El Paso, Texas 
          
         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 17, 2000, the House Committee  
         on Redistricting met in a public hearing and was called to order  
         by the chair, Representative Jones, Delwin, at 1:13 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Jones, Delwin; Bosse; Dunnam;  
                   Grusendorf; Hunter; Moreno, Paul; Pitts (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Glaze; Counts; Marchant; Wilson (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Carlos Ramirez, Mayor of El Paso, welcomed the House and Senate  
         Redistricting Committees to El Paso. 
          
         Dr. Diana Natalicio, President of the University of Texas at El  
         Paso, welcomed the committees to the university campus. 
          
         Public testimony was taken.(Representative Counts now present.) 
          
         At 5:00 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed subject to the call of the chair.
