         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 25, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Robert Junell at  
         11:32 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

         Credit Union Department 
          
         Representative Pitts moved the adoption of LBB recommendations  
         with corrections on rider 4 (b)(iii).  Without objection, the  
         motion was adopted. 
          
         Securities Board 
          
         Show Representatives Turner, Glaze, Hartnett, Coleman,  
         Cuellar, Flores, Gutierrez, Gallego, Tillery  present. 
          
         Representative Pitts moved the adoption of LBB recommendations  
         with the exception of the contingency rider proposed by West.   
         Adjust FTE cap to 90.  Without objection, the motion was  
         adopted. 
          
         Public Utilities Commission 
          
         Representative Pitts moved the adoption of LBB  
         recommendations. Without objection, the motion was adopted. 
          
         At 12:15 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until  
         1:30 pm. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 1:42 pm and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Junell.  The roll was answered as  
         follows:

         Funeral Services Commission

         Representative Pitts moved that funding be eliminated and that  
         the funds and functions of the Funeral Services Commission be  
         absorbed into the Texas Department of Health.  Without  
         objection, the motion was adopted.   
          
         Representative Coleman recognized students from South Houston  
         High School and Jack Yates High School. 
          
         Office of Public Utilities Counsel 
          
         Show Representative Mowery, Turner, Tillery, and Giddings  
         present. 
          
         Representative Pitts moved the adoption of LBB  
         recommendations.  Without objection, the motion was adopted. 
          
         Appraiser and Certification Board 
          
         Show Representative Flores present. 
          
         Representative Pickett moved the adoption of LBB  
  
         recommendations.  Add contingency Investigator Travel rider  
         (Pickett #1).  Without objection, the motion was adopted. 
          
         Real Estate Commission 
          
         Representative Pickett moved the adoption of LBB  
         recommendations.  Add Capitol Budget rider (Pickett #1).  Add  
         rider to increase FTEs by two  (Pickett #2).  Without  
         objection the motion was adopted. 
          
         State Office of Administrative Hearings 
          
         Show Representatives Puente and Eiland present. 
          
         Show Governor Bush present. 
          
         Representative Pitts moved the adoption of LBB  
         recommendations. Add Interagency Contract rider for Dockett  
         Management (Pits #1) and Interagency Contract rider for  
         Administrative Law Judge training (Pitts #2). Without  
         objection the motion was adopted. 
          
         At 4:30 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
