         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.11, an open meeting of the Senate Committee on Natural  
         Resources Subcommittee on Water was held on Wednesday, April  
         2, 1997, in the Lt. Governor's Committee Room, State Capitol,  
         Austin, Texas.

              The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:27 a.m.  There  
         being a quorum present, the following business was transacted.   
              Senator Truan made a motion to adopt the subcommittee  
         rules as drafted.  Senator Nixon seconded the motion.  Motion  
         carried unanimously, and the rules were adopted.  Senator  
         Wentworth said he will work with members to establish a  
         workable meeting time.  There being no further business, at  
         9:41 a.m. Senator Truan moved that the Committee be recessed,  
         subject to the call of the Chair.  Without objection, it was  
         so ordered.   
          
         No members arrived after the roll was called.
