Pursuant to a motion from the May 22, 1997 formal meeting, the
following are a corrected copy of the minutes for the public
hearing of May 12, 1997.
Pursuant to a suspension of the five day posting rule, and a
notice posted on May 9, 1997, the House Committee on Ways &
Means met in a public hearing and was called to order by the
Chair, Representative Tom Craddick at 8:56 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:

Holzheauser; Horn; Stiles; Thompson (7).
Absent: Representatives Grusendorf; Oliveira; Telford;
Williamson (4).

Representative Heflin moved that SB 1596 be reported favorably
to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and
be printed. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
