         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 22, 1998, the House  
         Committee on Urban Affairs met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the Chair, Representative Fred Hill at  
         10:00 am. 
          
         Testimony was taken.   
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Hill; Bailey; Burnam; Ehrhardt;  
                   Garcia; Wohlgemuth (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Clark; Hodge; Shields (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken.   
          
         The chair recognized Representative Bailey to make remarks  
         regarding urban colonias. 
          
         Testimony was taken. 
          
         At 1:10 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
