         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 22,  
         1997, the House Committee on Urban Affairs met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Fred Hill at 12:45 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Hill; Bailey; Clark; Garcia;  
                   Wohlgemuth (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Burnam; Ehrhardt; Hodge; Shields  
                   (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 679 
          
         The chair laid out SB 679.   
          
         The chair recognized Representative Bailey to explain the  
         measure.   
          
         (Representative Hodge now present.)   
          
         (Representative Ehrhardt now present.)   
          
         Representative Bailey moved that SB 679 be reported favorably  
         to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and  
         be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent  
         Calendars.  Representative Hodge seconded the motion.  The  
         motion prevailed by the following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Hill; Bailey; Clark; Ehrhardt;  
                        Garcia; Hodge; Wohlgemuth (7). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0). 
          
         Absent:        Representatives Burnam; Shields (2). 
          
         At 12:49 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
