         Pursuant to a notice posted on November 21, 1997, the House  
         Committee on State Affairs met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the Chair, Representative Steven Wolens at  
         9:32 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Hunter; Longoria; McCall; Ramsay (8). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Turner, Sylvester; Carter; Counts;  
                   Danburg; Hilbert; Jones, Delwin; Stiles (7). 
          
         A quorum was present.
