         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 15, 1997, the House  
         Committee on Revenue & Public Education Funding, Select met in  
         a formal meeting and was called to order by the Chair,  
         Representative Paul Sadler at 9:10 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Sadler; Hilbert; Brimer; Chisum;  
                   Craddick; Hernandez; Hochberg; Junell; Stiles;  
                   Williamson; Wilson (11). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HJR 4 
          
         The chair laid out HJR 4.   
          
         Representative Craddick offered a complete committee  
         substitute.   
          
         Representative Craddick moved to adopt the committee  
         substitute.  Representative Junell seconded.  The committee  
         substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Stiles moved that HJR 4, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on  
         Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Sadler; Hilbert; Brimer;  
                        Chisum; Craddick; Hernandez; Hochberg; Junell;  
                        Stiles; Williamson; Wilson (11).

         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
