         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 07, 1997, the House 
         Committee on Revenue & Public Education Funding, Select met in a 
         public hearing and was called to order by the Chair, 
         Representative Paul Sadler at 2:15 pm.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Sadler; Hilbert; Hernandez; Hochberg; 
                   Junell; Stiles (6).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Brimer; Chisum; Craddick; Williamson; 
                   Wilson (5).
         
         A quorum was present.
         
         HB4 and HJR 4
         
         The committee resumed consideration of HB 4 and HJR 4.
         
         Testimony was taken.  See attached witness list.

         present.)  
         
         At 3:45 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection, 
         the meeting was recessed until 4:00 pm.
         
         The committee reconvened at 4:00 pm and was called to order by 
         the chair, Representative Sadler.   
         
         The roll was answered as follows:

         Absent:   Representatives Brimer; Craddick; Junell; Williamson;
