         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 09, 1997, and an  
         announcement from the house floor on April 21, 1997, the House  
         Committee on Rules & Resolutions met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the Chair, Representative Al Edwards at  
         7:39 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Edwards; Chavez; Ehrhardt; Farrar;  
                   Rhodes; Seaman; Williams (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Torres; Lewis, Glenn; Madden; Palmer  
                   (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HR 439 
          
         The chair laid out HR 439.   
          
         (Representative Palmer now present.)   
          
         The chair recognized Representative Grusendorf to explain HR  
         439. 
          
         (Representative Torres now present.) 
          
         Testimony was taken.  See attached witness list.  
          
         HR 439 was left pending without objection. 
          
         At 8:38 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
