         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 9, 1998, the House  
         Committee on State Recreational Resources, Subcommittee on  
         State Park System Review met jointly in a public hearing with  
         the Committee on Appropriations and was called to order by the  
         Chair, Representative Edmund Kuempel at 9:41 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Kuempel; Horn; King; Longoria;  
                   Merritt (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives McCall; Davis; Eiland; Finnell;  
                   Raymond; Swinford (6). 
          
         Testimony was taken as an introduction of the Park, Recreation  
         and Natural Resources Study.  
          
         Testimony was taken on the description of the study elements,  
         processes being used and products to be delivered as a result  
         of the study. 
          
          (Representatives Finnell and Davis now present.)   
          
         Testimony continued. 
          
         Testimony was taken on the demographic changes within the  
         state as they relate to impacting outdoor recreation.  
          
         At 11:49 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
