         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 14, 1997, the House 
         Committee on State Recreational Resources met in a public 
         hearing and was called to order by the Chair, Representative 
         Edmund Kuempel at 8:09 am.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Kuempel; McCall; King; Merritt; Palmer 
                   (5).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Hightower; Hilderbran; Horn; Longoria 
                   (4).
         
         A quorum was present.

         The chair laid out HB 520.  
         
         The chair recognized Representative Woolley to explain the 
         measure.

         Testimony was taken.  
         
         (Representative Hightower now present.)  
         
         The chair recognized Representative Woolley to close on the 
         measure.  
         
         Representative Palmer moved that HB 520 be reported favorably to 
         the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be 
         printed.  The motion prevailed by the following vote:  
         
         Ayes:     Representatives Kuempel; McCall; Hightower; Horn; 
                   King; Merritt; Palmer (7).
         
         Nays:     None (0).
         
         Present not Voting: None (0).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Hilderbran; Longoria (2).

         The chair laid out HB 773.  
         The chair recognized Representative Seaman to explain the 
         measure.

         The chair recognized Representative Seaman to close on the 
         measure.  
         
         Representative Merritt moved that HB 773 be reported favorably 
         to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be 
         printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent 
         Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following vote:  
         
         Ayes:     Representatives Kuempel; McCall; Hightower; 
                   Hilderbran; Horn; King; Merritt; Palmer (8).
         
         Nays:     None (0).

         At 8:44 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
