         Pursuant to a notice posted on August 19, 1998, the House  
         Committee on Public Safety, Subcommittee on Commissioning of  
         Peace Officers met in a work session and was called to order  
         by the Chair, Representative Joe Driver at 1:38 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Driver; Keel, Terry; Keffer;  
                   McClendon (4). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee met to discuss the preliminary draft of the  
         interim subcommittee report. 
          
         No action was taken. 
          
         At 2:30 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without  
         objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of  
         the chair.
