         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 27, 1997, the House 
         Committee on Public Health met in a public hearing and was 
         called to order by the Chair, Representative Hugo Berlanga, at 
         12:03 pm.

         measure.

         to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and

         The committee heard a presentation from the Texas Department 
         of Health and the General Services Commission on the status of 
         the Texas Department of Health laboratory project.

         HCR 64
         
         The chair recognized Representative Delisi to explain the 
         measure.  Representative Hirschi offered a complete committee 
 
         





         substitute.  
         
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

         Representative Davila moved that HCR 64, as substituted, be 
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
