         Pursuant to a notice posted on June 30, 1998, the House  
         Committee on Public Education, Subcommittee on Efficiency of  
         Public Schools met in a public hearing and was called to order  
         by the  Chair, Representative Scott Hochberg at 1:40 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Hochberg; Rhodes (2). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Hernandez; Williamson (2). 
          
         A quorum was not present. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 5:10 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
