         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 25, 1997, the House 
         Committee on Public Education, Subcommittee on Safe Schools 
         met in a public hearing and was called to order by the Chair, 
         Representative  Harold Dutton at 3:10 pm.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   (4).
         
         Absent:   Representative Uher (1).
         
         A quorum was present.

         HB 1227 were left pending without objection. 
         
         At 8:30 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
