         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 5, 1998, the House  
         Joint SubCommittee on TRS-Care met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the Chair, Representative Paul Sadler at  
         9:10 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Telford; Rangel; Sadler; Cuellar;  
                   Hochberg; Pitts; Averitt (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Berlanga; Goolsby; Walker (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Chairman Sadler made opening remarks regarding the direction  
         of the subcommittee. 
          
         Testimony was taken. 
          
         Discussion followed. 
          
         At 11:32 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without  
         objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of  
         the chair.
