         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 12, 1997, the House  
         Committee on Local & Consent Calendars met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the Vice-Chair, Representative Bill  
         Carter at 9:40 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Representative Rabuck offered a proposed floor amendment to HB  
         1043. 
         Representative Rabuck moved that the following amendment be  
         approved for offering during floor consideration. 
         The motion prevailed without objection
