         Pursuant to a notice posted on September 18, 1998, the House  
         Committee on State, Federal & International Relations,  
         Subcommittee on Military and Veterans Affairs met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Wise at 1:45 PM. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representative Wise (1). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Chavez; Isett; Seaman (3). 
          
         Committee Chairman Representative Hunter was also present. 
          
         A quorum was not present. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 5:35 PM, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
