         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 23, 1997, the House  
         Committee on House Administration met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the Chair, Representative Tony Goolsby  
         at 8:20 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Goolsby; Luna, Vilma; Chisum;  
                   Hawley; Maxey; Tillery, (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Alvarado; Bailey; Hamric; Telford;  
                   West, George "Buddy" (5). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HB 2278 
          
         The chair laid out HB 2278.   
          
         The chair announced that Senate companion bill, SB 1301, was  
         over and eligible.  SB 1301 was considered in lieu of HB 2278. 
          
         Representative Goolsby offered a complete committee  
         substitute.   
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Testimony was taken.   
          
         (Representative West, George "Buddy" now present.)   
          
         Representative Luna, Vilma moved that CSSB 1301, as  
         substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the  
         recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion  
         prevailed by the following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Goolsby; Luna, Vilma; Chisum;  
                        Hawley; Maxey; Tillery; West, George "Buddy"  
                        (7). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0). 
          
         Absent:        Representatives Alvarado; Bailey; Hamric;  
                        Telford (4). 
          
         HCR 212 
  
         The chair laid out HCR 212.   
          
         Representative Chisum moved that HCR 212 be reported favorably  
         to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and  
         be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Goolsby; Luna, Vilma; Chisum;  
                        Hawley; Maxey; Tillery; West, George "Buddy"  
                        (7). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0).

         At 9:50 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
