House Committee on Redistricting

         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 18, 1997, the House Committee on Redistricting met in a public 
         hearing and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Delwin Jones at 2:14 pm.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Jones, Delwin; Grusendorf; Hightower; Hunter; Kubiak; Price (6).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Glaze; Giddings; Marchant; Moreno; Wilson (5).
         
         A quorum was present.
         
         HB 6
         
         The chair laid out HB 6.  
         
         (Representative Giddings now present.)  
         
         The chair answered questions from the committee about HB 6.
         
         Representative Kubiak moved that HB 6 be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that 
         it do pass and be printed.  
         
         Representative Kubiak withdrew his motion.
         
         The chair asked if there was anyone who would like to speak on HB 6.  The chair heard none.
         
         Representative Kubiak moved that HB 6 be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that 
         it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following vote:  
         
         Ayes:     Representatives Jones, Delwin; Giddings; Grusendorf; Hightower; Hunter; Kubiak; Price (7).
         
         Nays:     None (0).
         
         Present not Voting: None (0).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Glaze; Marchant; Moreno; Wilson (4).
         
         The chair called for members not present to be entered into the record what they would have voted.
         
         The following members had other commitments during the meeting, but if present, would have voted aye:  
         Representatives Glaze; Marchant; Moreno; Wilson.
         
         The chair called Allen Ware from the Legislative Council to discuss new redistricting programs available in the 
         member's offices. 
         
         At 2:34 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of
