        Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 21,  
        1997, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting  
        and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Mark  
        Stiles at 8:40 pm. 
         
        The roll was answered as follows:

        Nays:           None (0).

        The Chair recognized Rep. Turner, who moved to not set the  
        following bills on a calendar at this time:  SB 121, SB 316, SB  
        387, and SB 751.  The motion was seconded by Rep. Hilbert and  
        passed by the following record vote:

        At 8:50 pm, on the motion of Representative Brimer and without  
  
        objection, the meeting was recessed subject to the call of the
