         House Committee on Business & Industry

         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 6, 1997, the House  
         Committee on Business & Industry met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the Chair, Representative Kim Brimer at  
         3:08 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
        Present:   Representatives Brimer; Rhodes; Corte; Elkins;  
                   Giddings; Woolley (6). 
          
    Absent:        Representatives Dukes; Janek; Solomons (3). 
          
         A quorum was present.  
          
         (Representative Solomons now present.) 
          
         The chair named the following members to the Subcommittee on  
         HB 381:  Representative Woolley, Chair, Representatives Corte  
         and Elkins.  
          
         The chair named the following members to the Subcommittee on  
         HB 1168:  Representative Giddings, Chair, Representatives  
         Rhodes and Dukes.  
          
         By order of the chair, with no objections, the House Committee  
         on Business and Industry on March 12, 1997, authorized the  
         correction of the minutes for the committee hearing held on  
         March 5, 1997. 
          
         HB 92 
          
         The chair laid out HB 92.   
          
         The chair recognized and welcomed to the hearing,  
         Representatives Coleman, a co-author of the bill and  
         Representative Eiland, an author of the bill.

         At 6:15 p.m., due to a medical emergency in the meeting room,  
         the chair ordered the committee to stand at ease until 7 p.m.
