         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 21,  
         1997 and upon permission being granted to meet while the house  
         is in session, the House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock  
         met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the Chair,  
         Representative Pete Patterson at 9:08 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Patterson, L.P. "Pete"; Swinford;  
                   Cook; Rabuck; Roman; Turner, Bob (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Flores; Hupp; Oakley (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 1814 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1814.   
          
         Representative Swinford offered a complete committee  
         substitute.   
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         (Representatives Flores and Oakley now present.)   
          
         Representative Turner, Bob moved that SB 1814, as substituted,  
         be reported favorably to the full house with the  
         recommendation that it do pass and be printed.   
          
         The motion prevailed by the following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Patterson, L.P. "Pete";  
                        Swinford; Cook; Flores; Oakley; Rabuck; Roman;  
                        Turner, Bob (8). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0). 
          
         Absent:        Representative Hupp (1). 
          
         At 9:20 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
