         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 24, 1997, the House  
         Committee on Agriculture & Livestock met in a public hearing  
         and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Pete  
         Patterson at 8:12 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Patterson, L.P. "Pete"; Cook;  
                   Flores; Hupp; Rabuck; Turner, Bob (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Swinford; Oakley; Roman (3). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         SB 1465 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1465.   
          
         (Representative Roman now present.)   
          
         The chair recognized Representative Patterson, L.P. "Pete" to  
         explain the measure.   
          
         Representative Rabuck offered a complete committee substitute.   
          
         Testimony was taken.   
          
         The chair recognized Representative Patterson, L.P. "Pete" to  
         close on the measure.   
          
         Representative Turner, Bob moved that SB 1465, as substituted,  
         be reported favorably to the full house with the  
         recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to  
         the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.   
          
         The motion prevailed by the following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Patterson, L.P. "Pete"; Cook;  
                        Flores; Hupp; Rabuck; Roman; Turner, Bob (7). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
         Present not Voting:      None (0).

         At 8:19 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
