         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 20, 1997, the House 
         Committee on Agriculture & Livestock met in a public hearing 
         and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Pete 
         Patterson at 8:01 am.
         
         The roll was answered as follows:  
         
         Present:  Representatives Patterson, L.P. "Pete"; Swinford; 
                   Cook; Hupp; Roman; Turner, Bob (6).
         
         Absent:   Representatives Flores; Oakley; Rabuck (3).
         
         A quorum was present.
         
         HB 2602
         
         The chair laid out HB 2602.  
         
         The chair recognized Representative Swinford to explain the 
         measure.  
         
         Representative Turner, Bob offered a complete committee 
         substitute.  
         
         Testimony was taken.  
         
         (Representative Oakley now present.)  
         
         Testimony was taken.  
         
         The chair recognized Representative Swinford to close on the 
         measure.  
         
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
         
         Representative Cook moved that HB 2602, as substituted, be 
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation 
         that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on 
         Local and Consent Calendars.  
         
         
         
         The motion prevailed by the following vote:  
         
         Ayes:          Representatives Patterson, L.P. "Pete"; 
                        Swinford; Cook; Hupp; Oakley; Roman; Turner, 
                        Bob (7).

         to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and 
         be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent 
         Calendars.
