            Pursuant to a notice posted on March 6, 1997, the House 
            Committee on Agriculture & Livestock met in a public 
            hearing and was called to order by the Chair, 
            Representative Pete Patterson at 8:05 am.
            
            The roll was answered as follows:  
            
            Present:  Representatives Patterson, L.P. "Pete"; Swinford; 
                      Cook; Flores; Hupp; Oakley; Rabuck; Roman; 
                      Turner, Bob (9).
            
            Absent:   None (0).
            
            A quorum was present.

            The chair laid out HB 1577.  
            
            The chair recognized Representative Rabuck to explain the 
            measure.  
            
            Testimony was taken.  
            
            Representative Rabuck offered a complete committee 
            substitute.  
            
            The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
            
            The chair recognized Representative Uher to close on the 
            measure.  
            
            Representative Swinford moved that HB 1577, as substituted, 
            be reported favorably to the full house with the 
            recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent 
            to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  
            
            The motion prevailed by the following vote:  
            
            Ayes:     Representatives Patterson, L.P. "Pete"; Swinford; 
                      Cook; Flores; Hupp; Oakley; Rabuck; Roman; 
                      Turner, Bob (9).

            Representative Oakley moved that HB 1630 be reported 
            favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it 
            do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on 
            Local and Consent Calendars.
