                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Tyrone Dorian has received the high honor of being
    1-2  recognized as an Outstanding Texan in the area of business by the
    1-3  Texas Legislative Black Caucus; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, The caucus makes this award every two years to
    1-5  recognize the accomplishments of exceptional individuals who have
    1-6  achieved worthy goals in their chosen career and have contributed
    1-7  significantly to their profession and community; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Mr. Dorian, a lifelong resident of Houston's fifth
    1-9  ward, is richly deserving of this singular honor; a graduate of
   1-10  Phillis Wheatley High School and Texas A&M University, he set aside
   1-11  a flourishing career in the field of engineering to take charge of
   1-12  the family business in his home community; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, He is currently managing the business with great
   1-14  success and carrying on an exemplary family tradition in which many
   1-15  neighborhood boys work in the family business, learn, and grow to
   1-16  maturity under his sponsorship just as others did under
   1-17  Mr. Dorian's father before him; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, His generosity extends to several other young people
   1-19  whom he individually assists with college tuition and personal
   1-20  needs and whom he motivates with his example of hard work and
   1-21  successful achievement; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Mr. Dorian is also a recognized business leader,
   1-23  having founded his own corporation, Environmental Consulting and
   1-24  Monitoring Services; in addition, he founded the North East
    2-1  Business Alliance Group, serves as a member of the North East
    2-2  Community Advisory Board for Texas Commerce Bank, N.E., and is an
    2-3  active and lifelong member of Our Mother of Mercy Church; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    2-5  an exemplary citizen who has chosen to remain in his community and
    2-6  work for the common good when others abandon such ideals for the
    2-7  sake of private accomplishment and personal enrichment; now,
    2-8  therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-10  Legislature hereby commend Mr. Tyrone Dorian on the occasion of
   2-11  receiving the Legislative Black Caucus Outstanding Texan award in
   2-12  the area of business and wish him much success in all his future
   2-13  endeavors; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-15  prepared for Mr. Dorian as a token of high esteem from the Texas
   2-16  House of Representatives.
