    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is pleased to pause in its
    1-3  deliberations to congratulate one of its most highly regarded
    1-4  members, Senator Peggy Rosson, who is celebrating her birthday
    1-5  on April 11, 1993; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Since her election to the Senate in 1990,
    1-7  Senator Rosson has faithfully represented the 29th Senatorial
    1-8  District and continues to impress her constituency with her
    1-9  dedication to their needs and interests; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Bringing a notable background of accomplishment
   1-11  as chair of the Public Utility Commission, Senator Rosson is
   1-12  vice-chairman of the State Affairs Committee and ably serves on
   1-13  the committees on Economic Development, Intergovernmental Relations,
   1-14  and International Relations, Trade, and Technology; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, the esteemed
   1-16  senator has lived in El Paso since 1954 where she has been
   1-17  actively involved in community and governmental service; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous honors and awards,
   1-19  Senator Rosson is recognized as an outstanding legislator well
   1-20  qualified to formulate the laws that affect all Texans; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, She was chosen for the Texas Outstanding Public
   1-22  Service Award, SERTOMA Service to Mankind Award, El Paso Citizen
   1-23  of the Year 1991, Outstanding Legislator of the Year awards in
    2-1  1991 and 1992, and the City of El Paso Conquistador Award for
    2-2  Public Service; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Director of Bank of the West in El Paso,
    2-4  Senator Rosson has dedicated her time and energies to the
    2-5  development of her community through her various civic activities;
    2-6  and
    2-7        WHEREAS, The people of Texas and the citizens of her district
    2-8  are truly fortunate to have such an able and devoted public servant
    2-9  as their spokesman; now, therefore, be it
   2-10        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-11  73rd Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to Senator Peggy Rosson
   2-12  for a most enjoyable birthday; and, be it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-14  this accomplished senator as an expression of the admiration of
   2-15  the Texas Senate.
