    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, It is a distinct honor and great pleasure for
    1-3  the Senate of the State of Texas to recognize one of its most
    1-4  respected members, Senator Bill Sims; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Senator Sims is celebrating his 61st birthday
    1-6  January 27, 1993, and he and his wife, Sue, celebrate their
    1-7  38th wedding anniversary on January 28, 1993; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A distinguished gentleman and statesman,
    1-9  Senator Sims has long been beloved by the citizens of Texas and
   1-10  by his colleagues in the Senate; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A man of many talents, Senator Sims is a rancher
   1-12  and a businessman who has served for 27 years as the executive
   1-13  secretary of the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, An expert on the needs and interests of West Texas
   1-15  counties and an esteemed leader in the community, he serves on
   1-16  numerous state and national agriculture advisory committees and
   1-17  is consulting editor of The Ranch magazine; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, He is a member of the Texas Feed and Fertilizer
   1-19  Advisory Committee, the National Fibers and Food Protein Commission,
   1-20  and the Advisory Committee on Interstate Oil Compact; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Over the years, Senator Sims has brought a wealth
   1-22  of knowledge to the legislature, and he is legendary for his
   1-23  integrity, charm, dignity, and warm sense of humor; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Resourceful and committed to the welfare of the
    2-2  citizens of Texas, Senator Sims continues to represent his
    2-3  constituency with a keen sense of fairness, loyalty, and
    2-4  dedication; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  73rd Legislature, hereby extend best wishes for a joyous birthday
    2-7  to Senator Bill Sims; and, be it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-9  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
